Coach Update: Cat Kravets
Meet Coach Cat:
Catherine –> Cath –> Cat
“Coach Cat is what I go by in the fitness world. I introducted myself as Cath at my first gym and I guess they were too tired from working out to pronounce the h?? It’s stuck ever since!” Cat explained.
Born in Naperville, IL, her parents are immigrants from Poland and Ukraine. After getting an Applied Health Sciences degree at Wheaton College, Cat moved to Davenport to embark on a degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Current life: church, chiropractic, CrossFit.
Coaching since the age of 18 (23 now), Cat was a functional fitness instructor at Wheaton and started a female fitness group that encouraged female college students to participate in CrossFit.
“While teaching women gymnastics and barbell movements, I emphasized the beauty of strength and building female bodies, contrary to what culture tells us to do,” Cat said.
She enjoyed working with women so much that she started offering personal training during early COVID. From there, Cat quickly transitioned into coaching at a local gym and then at Midwest Strength and Performance, a private gym that specializes in unconventional strength training. Her first CrossFit coaching job was at CrossFit Amplify in Lisle, IL. While there, she became the personal trainer for a young boy with autism and still trains him when visiting back home. She later became the boy’s caregiver. Now she’s here at OC3 in the QC, phew!
Status: Busy & Loving It.

Fun Facts: Too Many to List!
>>Her favorite color is pink. “Everything I own for the gym is pink! If it’s pink and sparkles, it’s in my cart or I already have it,” she said.
>>Cat may say she hates burpees but we’ve already seen her in action and you’d never know it!
“You are the light of the world. A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
