Meet Danielle Beaudreault from CrossFit Lake Effect! She just arrived in the Quad Cities today to begin team training. She’s also here to coach our Total Nutrition Takeover (TNT) participants during the 7-week health challenge. She’ll be located onsite which makes her accessible. Being obsessed with movement since I was a young girl, I played any sport I could get my hands on. Basketball, volleyball, track, swimming, softball, cheerleading…I loved it all. I was an athletic tomboy teenager growing up in a world where perfectionism and body image was everything. My mom instilled healthy eating habits growing up, but all my friends were tall, skinny and beautiful. I fell into the pressures of a number on the scale, restricting my calories to one subway sub per day and probably a pot of coffee a day (extra french vanilla creamer). I hit the magic number, but I wasn’t happy nor did I look healthy, I looked hungry. Once I started taking my college nutrition courses I realized what I was doing to my body and changed my thoughts on food. It’s a fuel source in which I want to use to feel and perform my best.
CrossFit’s methodology on a diet consisting of meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar is simple and effective. I am an advocate of eating minimally processed whole foods, keeping in mind that every person is different and needs an individualized plan. As I continue my studies and work with different nutrition clients, I am a firm believer in logging your food to know what you’re eating. It’s not just about quality or quantity of your food, it should be both. However, leaving room to enjoy a donut, latte or a Mike’s Hard Lemonade on a hot summer day. My job as your nutrition coach is to work with you to achieve your goals, whether that’s to lose 30 lbs, gain muscle mass, look smokin’ for your spring break cruise or go to the freaking CrossFit Games!

Having earned her degrees from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN, Danielle is now in the process of getting her nutrition certification with Precision Nutrition. She’s also been training and working out of CrossFit Lake Effect in Holland, MI, where she has successfully held nutrition challenges helping clients meet their body transformation goals.
