Expecting Moms Who CrossFit

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. When we have expecting moms CrossFitting-for-two through most (or all) of their terms, we are all inspired to push just a little harder. Then, when those moms return to the gym only weeks after giving birth, we tend to regard them as heroes….and we aren’t the only ones! Check out the local news report “Lifting for Two” from WQAD (full article).

Many of our OC3 mamas attribute their speedy labor and delivery experiences, plus their recoveries, to staying active throughout their pregnancies. While we don’t recommend starting CrossFit for the first time while pregnant, it is a very safe activity for those with experience. Workouts are tailored to all sorts of challenges, such as previous injuries, joint issues or even inexperience (many OC3 members have walked through our doors having never worked out before). There is always a scalable movement option to accommodate each member’s needs, guided by trained coaches during every workout.

It’s known that working out offers more than just physical benefits. It increases endorphins, our own natural feel-good drug. So, it makes sense that those with challenges would want to safely and carefully continue their fitness regimens. The personalized attention and coaching they get, plus the supportive community, all make for a very comfortable environment. Just ask one of our inspiring and strong CrossFit moms!

**While we want to pay tribute to our moms, we can’t ignore our dads! There are many amazing parents showing up every day, each making all kinds of sacrifices so they can put in the work that allows them to be the best version of themselves for their families. Whether you bring your children to the gym, or leave them at home, it is so important to make that time for yourself. We commend ALL of you for showing up to have the best hour of your day even when it’s not easy!**
