OC3 COACH UPDATE: LAYNE PALM

Layne Palm comes to us from Winnebago, IL as a Palmer College of Chiropractic student, multi-sport athlete and CrossFit believer. We are so excited to have him on staff to help further the passion and drive of our dedicated members!

What year did you start CrossFitting?

I started doing CrossFit in 2011 at my high school while training for wrestling. It translated really well! Please join us in officially welcoming him to the #OC3Family.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

It took me until high school to really understand the importance of health and fitness but when my assistant wrestling coach introduced me to CrossFit, I loved it. I loved that it was always different, that it was really hard and it kept training fun. We started hitting WODs every day after school or after practice and, through CrossFit, I really found the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. I think that’s why I love CrossFit so much, it brings so much more to the table than just working out.

Why did you become a trainer?

I got my Level 1 Certification in July of 2015. CrossFit has molded almost every aspect of my life and every trainer I have had has had a bigger impact on me than I am sure they know. I hope I can do the same for others while on their journeys.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Definitely the snatch!

What is your favorite cheat food?

I would have to say donuts! Especially the crazy ones, like donuts with bacon on them!

What’s your favorite superhero and why?

Easy, Batman! Well, I’m not saying that I am Batman, but have you ever seen me and Batman in the same place at the same time?
